CONSTITUTION OF EAGLE BOWMEN PENRITH

 

General Provisions

1.  The Club shall be called Eagle Bowmen hereinafter referred to as the Club.

2(a) The funds and property of the Club shall be vested in the Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer for the time being

2(b) All monies and sums received on behalf of the Club shall remain the property of the Club and there will be no distribution of such funds amongst the members.

3 The objects of the Club shall be the promotion and encouragement of Archery in all its forms, other than Bow Hunting.

4 The Shooting regulations as prescribed in the GNAS Rules of Shooting shall be accepted as governing the relevant branches of the Sport of Archery practised by the Club and its visitors.

5 Nothing will be included in this Constitution which conflicts with that of the GNAS.

6 The postal address of the Club shall be that of the Secretary for the time being.

7 The Constitution of the Club shall not be altered or amended except at the Annual General Meeting or at an Extraordinary General Meeting of the Club.

Members wishing to move a proposition designed at alter or amend the Constitution shall submit such a proposition to the Secretary twenty eight days before the General Meeting at which such proposition is to be considered.

Notice of such proposition which it is intended to move shall be sent to all members entitled to receive notice of such Meeting .

8 This club is committed to Child safety and Welfare. This Club believes that when dealing with children and vulnerable adults, their welfare should always be of paramount importance. The Club is committed to providing and environment where young people can learn and participate in a sport free from harassment and abuse. All those people working with children have a moral responsibility to safeguard and promote a child’s welfare.

This Club has therefore adopted the GNAS Protection of Children and Vulnerable Adults Policy to ensure peace of mind for both adults and children.

 

MEMBERSHIP

9 The Membership shall consist of all those both Juniors and Seniors who affiliate to GNAS through the Club.

10 Any person whom the Club may wish to honour for distinguished service to the Club may be elected at a General Meeting of the Club as an Honorary associate member for life or for a specified period of time.

11 All members and visitors shall accept the jurisdiction of the Club and shall conform to such conditions, shooting rules and regulations as may be determined from time to time.

 

SUBSCRIPTIONS

14(a) All target fees shall be paid on arrival at the Club meeting.

14(b) A visitor who has not paid his fee, if allowed to stay and shoot, shall do so on arrival at the next meeting.

 

 

MANAGEMENT

15 The management of the Club’s affairs shall be entrusted to The Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer

16 A Chairman, Secretary and a Treasurer shall be appointed by the  Members in a General Meeting which shall determine the terms of their appointments from time to time.

17 At meetings of the Club Committee the Chairman, if necessary, is entitled to an additional deciding vote.

18 The Club Committee may appoint sub-committee’s and may delegate to such Committees powers within defined limits.

FINANCE

19 The Club shall cause to be prepared and shall present at the Annual General Meeting a Balance Sheet showing the financial position of the Club on the 1st January of the preceding year together with an Income and Expenditure Account for the twelve months ending on that day.

20 A copy of the Balance Sheet and Income and Expenditure Account shall be examined by the Members.

21 A Bank Account shall be maintained in the name of the Club.

All cheques and orders withdrawing monies from the Account shall be signed by any two of the Club Chairman, Secretary or Treasurer.

 

GENERAL MEETINGS

22 The Annual General Meeting shall be held before the end of March at a place to be determined by the Club Committee.

Not less than twenty one clear day’s notice of such Meetings shall be sent to each Founder Member

WINDING UP OF THE CLUB

 

23 Should the club find itself in such a position that it must cease to exist the following rules shall apply to its winding up.

24 1. All debts to be paid if finances are sufficient.

25 2. If finances are insuffiecient or if all debts are paid  then all the clubs property to be sold and the finance left to be disposed of via an archery cause. ,eg paid to the county or regional bodies or another club.

26 The winding up of the club must be with the full consent of those remaining members.
